Based on an on-site visit, this project explores an interior intervention for Northwell Greenwich Village Hospital in New York City, positioning staff support areas as a hybrid of workplace and healthcare environments.
Drawing inspiration from the building’s signature curved porthole windows, the design translates the architectural language into a cohesive interior system using soft radii, framed openings, and flowing edges to clarify circulation, wayfinding, and spatial hierarchy. Responding to high-intensity clinical routines, the proposal prioritizes staff-focused programs including decompression lounges, quiet reset rooms, and flexible touchdown zones, balancing privacy and collaboration across shifts.
Through calibrated lighting, acoustic control, ergonomic planning, and warm material contrasts, the space supports recovery, reduces fatigue, and improves daily workflow.
